SSI Open Water Training Dives
After you have completed your Academics and Confined Water portions of the SSI Open Water Diver Course, your Training Dives are the final steps toward achieving your certification! You've learned and mastered your skills in the classroom and pool, now it's time to put them to the test in an open water environment. Join us in Gilboa Quarry between May and October. Open Water Training Dives, often referred to as "check out dives", can be thought of as the final performance in your Open Water Diver Course. You will have learned, practiced, and finally become comfortable with each skill you're required to perform! Once you and your classmates have demonstrated your comfort and confidence with each skill, your instructor will guide the group on a short tour around the quarry to check out some of the awesome attractions. Training Dives are conducted at Gilboa Quarry in Ottawa, Ohio.
